Tata Tata Architects Wins First Place and People's Choice Award at American Pillo Design Competition 2025

Beyond Tropical Living is an exhibition booth proposal designed by Tata Tata Architects, an architecture studio based in Lombok, Indonesia, for the American Pillo Design Competition 2025. The project received First Place and the People's Choice Award in a competition organized by PT Balifoam Nusamegah in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) West Nusa Tenggara, attracting 178 registered participants from across Indonesia. The proposal explores a contemporary approach to exhibition architecture, integrating architectural expression, brand identity, and spatial experience.

The design is characterized by a sculptural curved canopy that establishes a distinctive architectural identity. American Pillo's signature blue is combined with warm timber textures, contemporary finishes, and thoughtfully arranged product display areas. The interplay of fluid geometry, material contrasts, and functional circulation creates an inviting environment that transforms a conventional exhibition booth into an immersive architectural experience inspired by the warmth and comfort of tropical living.

Through Beyond Tropical Living, Tata Tata Architects explores the relationship between aesthetics, functionality, and human experience, demonstrating how commercial architecture can extend beyond product presentation to communicate identity and atmosphere. Receiving recognition from both the professional jury and the public, the project represents a significant milestone for the Lombok-based studio and reflects its commitment to creating thoughtful, distinctive, and meaningful architectural spaces.
